At a press conference in Almaty attendees have announced that in the period from September 21-23 Almaty will host World Cup Grand Prix in pole ski jumping.
For the first time ever Kazakhstan will organize a women’s contest, which will involve 26 athletes. The event will involve athletes from Japan, Norway, Slovenia, Canada, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Russia and others. Almaty will welcome four times Olympic champion Simon Ammann, Olympic champion Maarten Schmidt, winners of the world cup Jurij Tepes, Robert Kranjec, Tom Hilde and the winner of the World Cup Grand Prix in Courchevel Alexandra Praetorius from Canada. Kazakhstan will be presented by Karpenko, Lyovkin, Korolyov and Dzhaparov.

-Athletes are interested in coming here in order to gain additional points in stages of the world cup. Last year we hosted only one contest and this year we are hosting two.
